You may have seen in the media that Amazon is having a sale that they say will rival the traditional Black Friday sales. It’s all to celebrate their 20th anniversary and it’s going to be pretty epic! So what does this mean for you if you ARE an Amazon Prime member of if you are NOT?

First, this sale will only be available to current Amazon Prime members, which means that if you have a membership in good standing you are automatically IN to take advantage of any of the deals Amazon decides to offer that day (more on those, below).

If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you still have time to become a member and take advantage of what could be pretty epic deals on Amazon on July 15th! The cost for an Amazon Prime membership is only $99/year and you get A LOT for that membership! Not only do you get free 2-day shipping on thousands of items, but you also get access to Amazon Music (free streaming music) and Amazon Prime Video which is similar to Netflix includes thousands of free movies and TV shows including Amazon original series’ that you can’t get anywhere else. You also get free, unlimited photo backup in the cloud with Prime Photos!

Secondly, the deals are going to be AH-MAZING! Like a 40-inch LED TV for $115! Or an Amazon Fire HD7 tablet for $60 off the normal price? Tons more deals are being leaked! We’ll update a few here so check back!

You’ll also have the chance to win $1000 to $25000 in Amazon gift cards!

So when is this sale?

The sale begins at 12:01am PT on July 15th, 2015 and will end at 11:59pm on the same day. It’s only one day, so be sure to grab what you want while it’s available!

Our tips for becoming an Amazon Prime member:

Join here and you’ll be enrolled in a free 30-day trial. If you decide you don’t want the membership before the 30-days expires, you won’t be charged anything. Just cancel before 30 days are up and you can enjoy all of the benefits of Prime in the meantime.

Consider making your Amazon Prime membership an Amazon Mom membership instead. The cost is the same, but you’ll also get 20% off selected diapers (all major brands are represented in the list of diapers available for the discount)!

Amazon Mom members can also get 15% off their monthly Subscribe and Save shipments if they purchase 5 or more things on a monthly, subscription basis. This discount alone is worth it! Not only do you get great Amazon prices on things you would buy anyway (think consumables…toilet paper, paper towels, food products, personal care products, etc) but you also get 15% off the entire order and free shipping too! Compare the prices of some of the products you already buy and you might find that the savings of money AND time are well worth switching your purchases to Amazon!

Is Prime worth it?

As an Amazon Prime member since the program began, my personal opinion is that it’s worth every penny! I check everything on Amazon before I make a purchase in a store. Knowing that I can get almost anything shipped to me for free and in only two days makes it so worth the effort of plugging in a search or two into Amazon to see if they can beat a local store’s price. This really comes in handy in the winter! Who wants to shop from store to store in the Twin Cities cold when an option is available that can bring the exact item I want, usually for less money, right to my door?

My family also loves the movie and TV show selections on Amazon Prime Video. Chances are that if Netflix doesn’t have something, Amazon Prime Video will and the selections are just different enough that we love having both services available to us. The free streaming music from Amazon Music and the free photo backup from Amazon Photos are awesome too. Who couldn’t use some more free photo storage as a second or third backup for safety?

If you’re curious about the one-day sale on July 15th and you want to give Amazon Prime a whirl, there’s really no better time. Check out the free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and see how it works for you and your family!
